David played his amateur golf in Mahon Golf Club where he reached a handicap of +2, competing in all the national & provincial championships.
In 2008 David went to work in Bighorn Country Club in California where he learned about excellent customer care in a 5 star resort. Spending 3 winters in Bighorn Davids customer care and attention to detail became second to none.
In 2014 he started work in Douglas golf club with Stephen Hayes and joined the PGA training program. In Douglas David set up numerous training programs for teams and individuals.
David coached teams to Munster pennants and All-Ireland finals, he was involved in coaching individuals to provincial and national panels and also his students have won scratch cups and even Irish titles.
Davids reputation as a coach has grown massively and he looks forward to learning more and continuing his growth as a coach while helping as many people play better golf and have them enjoy their golf more. He takes as much pride in coaching his professional clients as he does beginners and everyone in between.
David’s coaching style is very simple, he wants you to play your best golf possible by making the golf swing easy to understand and turning his knowledge into easy to understand instruction proven to help lower your scores.

Colin Maguire – Assistant Professional
Colin embarked on his professional golf journey in 2023 and is just coming to the end of his first year as an Assistant PGA Professional in Douglas Golf Club. His love of golf started in Douglas where he did kiddies golf aged 8, before becoming a member at the age of 12.
Before turning professional and joining the Irish PGA Circuit, Colin held an impressive unbeaten matchplay record in Senior Cup and Barton Shield with Douglas Golf Club. In 2022, Colin won the Senior Scratch Cup in Glengarriff which was previously won by his father and uncle.
After a year gaining experience in Halpenny Golf, Colin honed his craft within the golf industry spending a Summer in McLeery Golf Course, Vancouver, Canada and gained a wealth of golfing knowledge both on and off the course.
Colin is very ambitious and has his eyes set on becoming an expert golf coach, while staying committed to his own professional career. His coaching philosophy is simple: tailored lessons focusing on every aspect of the game to ensure his clients optimize their game, from beginners to elite levels.
